On April 16, 2026, a delegation from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology visited the CEEC EPC JV PF Khulis Photovoltaic Project in Saudi Arabia to explore collaboration opportunities in sustainable energy systems.

The KAUST delegation was led by Prof. Qiaoqiang Gan and included Dr. Ízaro López García, Dr. Hadi Zulfiqar, and Dr. Marios Neophytou, representing expertise in technology transfer, deployment, and solar energy systems.

The meeting was hosted by China Energy Construction and attended by key representatives including Mr. Chi Ma, Mr. Hongyi Wang, Mr. Zichang Zheng, Mr. Xudong Sun, Mr. Weizhong Ma, Mr. Jie Feng, Mr. Wenjun Sun, Mr. Zheng Wei, Mr. Long Guo, and Mr. Abdullah Alkhashram.

The session began with introductions, followed by a project overview presented by CEEC. Prof. Gan introduced KAUST’s ongoing research directions in advanced energy and sustainable technologies.

Discussions focused on potential collaboration areas, including radiative cooling, evaporative cooling, photovoltaic technologies, and power grid systems. Both sides exchanged perspectives on integrating advanced materials and system-level solutions into large-scale energy infrastructure.

The meeting concluded with remarks highlighting strong interest in future collaboration, particularly in advancing sustainable energy technologies and facilitating translation from research to industrial deployment.
